For 2025 VVA will be offering opportunities for play for the following age categories:

13/14U, 15U, 16U, 17U, & 18U Girls and Boys

Volleyball Canada – 2025 Age Categories

*18U: Athletes born from September 1, 2006 to Dec 31 2007
17U: Athletes born from September 1, 2007 to Dec 31 2008
16U: Athletes born from September 1, 2008 to Dec 31 2009
15U: Athletes born from September 1, 2009 to Dec 31 2010
14U: Athletes born from September 1, 2010 to Dec 31 2011

*For 2025, 18U Age Category ONLY:
A team roster for the 18U category can include 2 athletes born from Jan 1 – August 31, 2006, with the following restriction: Athletes are NOT permitted to be part of any USport, CCAA or other Post-Secondary volleyball program for the current season (Sept 2024-May 2025) 

Players typically should register for tryouts for their age group, please do not register in multiple age categories. Coaches will assess and determine the proper placement for the player.  For instance, a child born in 2011 would normally participate in the 14U age category in the 2025 season. This setup ensures that players are matched with peers of the same age and school grade.

Club Volleyball provides opportunities for players and coaches to participate in quality programs that cater to various levels of play beyond the traditional school season. The BC club season runs from January to May. 

VVA is committed to providing opportunities for youth volleyball for boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 18. This will be VVA’s 32nd season of club volleyball and we are in preparation for the 2025 season ahead. Coaches and Players are expected to make a commitment to attend all practices, tournaments, and play days. The club season involves significant travel to the Lower Mainland and Up Island, including occasional overnight trips. 

Please be aware that tryout dates and sessions are subject to change. All registrants will receive an email 2-3 days before tryouts begin, to confirm final times and locations. Live updates will be posted to this page.
