Club Fees
There are three components to fees paid for players who are successful in tryouts and are selected to a V.V.A. team.
1) Volleyball BC registration = approximately $80 is completed online with that organization.
All players and coaches must register with Volleyball BC. Instructions will be sent to players regarding completion of this item.
2) Basic V.V.A. club fees: 13U and 14U = $500. 15U through 18U = $600
Fees collected cover 3 hours per week of gym rentals for training, coaching certification/honorarium, equipment use, and administrative fees.
Coaches will provide players / parents with instructions regarding payment of club fees. In past years there have been three options:
- a) online using credit card (processing charges apply);
- b) e-transfer to the club treasurer; &
- c) cheque payable to Victoria Volleyball Association – which can be given to the coach at practices.
3) Competition and travel expenses: travel costs are in addition to the registration fee and include: transportation (ferry), accommodation (hotel), coach’s expenses, and tournament entry fees. The number of tournaments – and their locations – will vary depending on the age, gender, and competitive level of the particular team. If athletes wish to seek a cost estimate prior to the season, they should speak with their respective coach during the tryout process to get the most accurate figures. A figure of $1200 per player has been an average cost in preceding years, excluding attendance at National Championships. If teams decide to register and attend at Nationals, an additional $1200 per player for that event has been an average cost in recent years.
